Y si mal os parece servir á Jehová, escogeos hoy á quién sirváis; si á los dioses á quienes siervieron vuestros padres, cuando estuvieron de esotra parte del río, ó á los dioses de los Amorrheos en cuya tierra habitáis: que yo y mi casa serviremos á Jehová.Et si vous ne trouvez pas bon de servir l'Éternel, choisissez aujourd'hui qui vous voulez servir, ou les dieux que servaient vos pères au delà du fleuve, ou les dieux des Amoréens dans le pays desquels vous habitez. Moi et ma maison, nous servirons l'Éternel.Porém, se vos parece mal aos vossos olhos servir ao SENHOR, escolhei hoje a quem sirvais; se aos deuses a quem serviram vossos pais, que estavam além do rio, ou aos deuses dos amorreus, em cuja terra habitais; porém eu e a minha casa serviremos ao SENHOR.Если же не угодно вам служить Господу, то изберите себе ныне, кому служить, богам ли, которым служили отцы ваши, бывшие за рекою, или богам Аморреев, в земле которых живете; а я и дом мой будем служить Господу.Gefällt es euch aber nicht, daß ihr dem HERRN dient, so erwählt euch heute, wem ihr dienen wollt: den Göttern, denen eure Väter gedient haben jenseit des Stroms, oder den Göttern der Amoriter, in deren Land ihr wohnt. [В тот день сыны Израилевы, взяв ковчег Божий, носили с собою, и Финеес был священником вместо Елеазара, отца своего, доколе не умер и не был погребен в [городе] своем Гаваофе.

И сыны Израилевы пошли каждый в свое место и в свой город.
36:
И стали сыны Израилевы служить Астарте и Астарофу и богам окрестных народов; и предал их Господь в руки Еглона, царя Моавитского, и он владел ими восемнадцать лет.
